In the Other America the general public don't go to the airfield to fly away to somewhere delightful or even somewhere needful of their presence.
In the Other America the general public are too poor to fly like that.
"I'm too poor to try this or buy that," we say to ourselves, and one another, each day like it was just part of a regular litany of petty grouses. Yet there is so much truth hidden in that small protest of our lot-in-life.
" I am too poor."
Maybe hence but we are probably on that tightrope strung not really hopefully over the gapping maw of our growing debt. On misstep and it's into the depths.
The invisible poor of the Other America live in that abyss.
Who are we in these airports going from here to there when the lives of the invisible poor are in the balance? The economy is in the imperial hands of the elite controllers of the wealth of countries.
Someone must be brave enough or smart enough or feed up enough to say," Enough!"
It is time to see the invisible poor as worthy of humanity. It is past time to cease stealing from them. Do we actually not understand that we shall all suffer from the neglect and mistreatment that we have allowed to be visited upon the least of these?
Where is your enlightened self interest my chum?
I want somebody to join my youngsters in the fight for the future. There's no conspiracy idea busy in the darkness. The wealthy have simply co-opted our morality by walking off from those whom they have stolen their wealth. This theft has been done in broad light.
It has been done with our passive approval while we have pretended to be middle-income and the honorable protectors of the poor.
