A popular myth among many voters is that there are no true differences between the Democrats and the Republicans. This myth is born out of a kernel of truth. There are some important areas where there isn't as much difference between the major parties as there should be. But just because there are some areas where there is not much difference doesn't mean that there are not also some issues where there are important differences.

1. Obama's Credit Card Bill of Rights. This prevents credit card companies from imposing arbitrary rate increases on their customers.
2. Supreme Court nominations. President Obama has made two excellent Supreme Court nominations and if elected for another 4 years he may very well get to make more. If McCain had made these nominations instead the Supreme Court would now be slanted seven to two in favor of corporate rights instead of people's rights. The importance of this cannot be overstated, it's plenty of reason enough to vote for Obama by itself.
3. The Iraq War. Remember that McCain said he would be totally fine with continuing the war in Iraq for another 100 years. Obama ended it.
4. President Obama signed the Children's Health Insurance Reauthorization Act into law. It provides health care for 11 million children including 4 million who were previously without insurance. McCain voted no.
5. Don't Ask Don't Tell. President Obama signed the repeal of DADT. None of the Republican candidates for President would do the same.
6. The 2012 GOP Presidential Candidates. As good as Obama is, the single best reason to vote for him is actually how bad his Republican opponent will be.
7. There were more American jobs in 2010 alone than there was during Bush's entire 8 years.
