Part 2. Some people tell me "I don't need God, why should I ?" And true enough in a natural way the majority of us can live without God, but if God does exist, as I assert, He says no one may have any quality of life at all in the next life, without living for Him in this life.
Funny thing though, in this very modern enlightened age we live, crime is on the increase world wide; many still starve to death every year; suicide is on an alarming increase; there are millions of homeless youth now in Western countries, the list could go on.
In Australia - recently a 13 year old girl was discovered with an 8 hit a day heroin addiction; virtually half the secondary school students give up their virginity before they finish school; every 3 days 1 teenager will become a mom; 1 out of every 10 children will experience depression prior to the age of fourteen; many Victorian schools are now using CCTV cameras and armed security guards to battle criminal damage, theft and drug dealing. Children as young as 6, are reported to be trying heroin; moms and dads who suspect their kids are utilizing drugs can hire sniffer dogs to sniff-out their apartment; children as young as 7 are starving themselves as a way to have the ideal figure; more than two thousand children each day, log onto the world wide web to find information on when they can set out, when they may have sex, and which mum or dad to live with after a divorce; children as young as Eleven years of age are purchasing drugs on credit at school, they trade what they can including sex, for drugs; etc. The more a nation tosses out God, the more animal-like and less human that society becomes. God had a much better plan than something like that.
This concept about there not existing a God is a comparatively new concept.
Although we are aware that things have changed greatly in the last Hundred years, we in reality live by a deeper basic assumption that says: 'the way things are now and how it was for our mother and father, is the way that it has forever been' forgetting the 1000's of years of culture, with their ways of life and the numerous philosophies they held. The things of earlier times seem very distant while the things we live with now seem so very real. Identical to watching a movie that gets you in - through the movie, the rest of life seems kind of remote and not so real and we want the movie to just keep going. So it is with life, in the heart of this easy, luxurious and entertained life, God, Bible history and the spiritual realm seems kind of remote and not so real, yet They're more real than all else.
Surely, now in our modernistic 20th century life-style of TV & DVD's, iPads, microwave & Youtube, the spectacular scientific break throughs with all our ingenious logic, God and the spiritual realm just don't add up. The facts are men and women are flocking to some spiritual experience now - the requirement to connect with that inner part of ourselves it seems, in a reaction to the super modernistic plastic world we now have for ourselves.
